Silent River Film Festival – Launch


Kalpna Singh-Chitnis, the originator of the “Silent River Film Festival” with Irina Maleeva at the launch of this year’s Silent River Film Festival on Sept. 20, 2014 at the Civic Center in Irvine where Irina’s two music videos — “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” and “Illusions” — will be screened.

The “River Symphony Award” recognizes an artist’s contribution to music as an art form, resulting in the making of a film.

“Silent River Film Festival, for the first time includes musical works of a number of Music Artists in 2013 including Italian-American singer Irina Maleeva known for MERCHANT OF VENICE by Orson Welles, SPIRIT OF DEAD by Federico Fellini and many other popular television series in the United States and abroad. Irina’s music videos ILLUSION and LET’S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE directed by MICHAEL PESCASIO will be the part of “Fabulous Shorts and Music Videos” showcase at the 2013 SRFF.”

On the Red Carpet at the New Media Film Festival

“Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” a song written by Irving Berlin, is a music video based on the same song from Irina Maleeva’s CD — “Illusions” has been officially selected into the prestigious Music Video categories of New Media Film Festival on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 and Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 for HMMA Awards.

The music video will be judged by 2-time Gemini Winner Ron Proulx and 2-time Grammy-nominated record producer Barry Goldberg for New Media Film Festival. After the screening, Irina Maleeva will be part of the Q & A portion of the music video programming. For the HMMA Awards, “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” is slated to screen at their Annual Music Awards event at the gorgeous Fonda Theatre in Hollywood Calif.
